Co-operative Bulk Handling Limited is owned, controlled and financed by the grain growers of Western Australia. Incorporated on 5 April 1933, the Company is based on the true co-operative principle of equality; one person, one vote, irrespective of the volume of business conducted. The shareholding of the Company is held entirely by active WA grain growers. Each grower delivering grain to CBH owns one non-transferable share.

- Australian Barley Board
The Board is the barley marketing authority for South Australia and Victoria and the oat marketing authority for South Australia. The Board handles a range of proclaimed produce including field peas, chick peas, lupins, faba beans and vetch.
- Australian Grain Marketing Federation
The Federation comprises State coarse grain marketing authorities, marketing a range of commodities including barley, oats, sorghum, grain legumes and oilseeds. The Federation liaises at Federal level with governments on industry matters and one of its objectives is to protect Australia's market share of world barley trade.
- Australian Wheat Board
The Australian Wheat Board (AWB) is a national and international grain marketing organisation which markets wheat and other grains on behalf of Australian grain growers and provides finance to growers, at harvest and post-harvest times in advance of revenue received on wheat sales. As the sole controller of the export of Australia's wheat production, the AWB carries the collective risk of international price and financial exposures on behalf of Australia's wheat growers.

Grainco was formed during 1992 with the merger of Bulk Grains Qld, the Barley Marketing Board Qld, the Central Qld Sorghum Marketing Board and the State Wheat Board of Qld. Grainco's main functions are grain handling and grain marketing.
